Newfie Joke Book
NATASHA WHITE

Why are Newfie jokes so dumb? So the rest of Canada can understand them! From an author who hails from none other than the town of Dildo, Newfoundland, this book celebrates the hilarious tradition of the Newfie joke,
many of which were likely made up by residents of “The Rock”:
Q: Why did the Newfies get excited when they heard Quebec was separating from Canada?
A: Because it was only going to take an hour and a half to get to Toronto.
Q: Why don’t baymen like line dancing?
A: Because the clothespins hurt their ears.
Q: Why was the townie collecting burned-out light bulbs?
A: He needed them for his darkroom.
Q: How many townies does it take to go ice fishing?
A: Four—one to cut the hole and three to push the boat through.
Q: What do you call it when a Newfie loses his accent?
A: Artificial intelligence.
Q: How did the Newfie move to Alberta and not have to change his address?
A: He took the numbers on his house with him.

NATASHA WHITE
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, NATASHA WHITE was raised in Dildo, where she undoubtedly developed her witty sense of humour. She completed high school in Newfoundland and moved west to Alberta, where she makes a living through her writing. She entered in and won a short fiction contest for a Newfoundland magazine. Now an Albertan, she bundles up against the chilly prairie winters and longs for the Atlantic Ocean.cit
